Rest in Peace, Bro. Bob
Bro. Bob and I had worked together in the Vocation Office for the past couple of years. May he rest in peace after his long battle with cancer.
This year a recurrence of cancer prevented friar Bob Lucero from doing one of the things he loved best – singing with Cincinnati’s May Festival Chorus, as he had done for the past 43 years. Bob, a solemnly professed friar since 1973, died early this morning, Dec. 20, at St. Margaret Hall in Cincinnati. He was 64 years old. Bob spent 39 years with St. Anthony Messenger Press as an assistant editor and then as a production manager. Since 2013 he had been part of the Vocation team for St. John the Baptist Province. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at St. Clement Church in St. Bernard, Ohio. Friars, friends and family will gather at 9:30 a.m. preceding the funeral in remembrance of Bob.
