I am a Franciscan priest. I spent my early years of ministry in New Mexico working among the Pueblo Native Americans and the Hispanics. In 1978 I began my years in academics working as a chaplain, faculty member, and administrator at various universities in the southwest and the midwest. I taught various course in theology, especially in my area of specialty which is moral theology. I have been the Vocation Director for the Province of Saint John the Baptist since 2003.

Three More Approved for Postulancy Class

 

In May, the Admissions Board of St. John the Baptist Province approved Jonathon Douglas and Carlo Shivel for the Postulancy Class of 2014. (see May 24, 2014 post on this blog.) This weekend three more young men were added to the class. They are:

 

John Boissy_B copyJohn Boissy, 21, from Cincinnati, OH. John went to the School for the Performing Arts in Cincinnati and most recently is self-employed as a wood worker. He is an avid skier and is a ski instructor. Trevor Blum_B copy

 

Trevor Blum, 21, is from Lake Wylie, SC. He has served as as EMT and is presently serving as a maintenance man at his local parish.

 

Thomas Murphy_A copyThomas Murphy, 21, is from Los Alamos, NM. He is a violinist and just finished his undergraduate degree at New Mexico State University at Las Cruces, NM.

 

These five young men will begin their year of Postulancy at St. Anthony Friary in Cincinnati, OH on August 20, 2014.
