Friar Don Miller. OFM
I am a Franciscan priest. I spent my early years of ministry in New Mexico working among the Pueblo Native Americans and the Hispanics. In 1978 I began my years in academics working as a chaplain, faculty member, and administrator at various universities in the southwest and the midwest. I taught various course in theology, especially in my area of specialty which is moral theology. I have been the Vocation Director for the Province of Saint John the Baptist since 2003.

Ordination of New Priest

Richard Goodin
Fr. Richard Goodin, O.F.M.

Yesterday, our Province celebrated the ordination of one of our younger members to the Priesthood. Fr. Richard grew up in Lebanon, KY where he returned to offer a Mass of Thanksgiving this morning. Richard is the only son of his parents and has two younger sisters. He completed his theology course work at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, IL. He was ordained by Bishop Charles Thompson, a family friend and the Bishop of Evansville, IN. Bishop Charles was the pastor of the parish in Lebanon, KY when Richard was growing up.

I am especially proud of Fr. Richard since he is the first one of my recruits as the Vocation Director to make it to Solemn Vows and Ordination. I have watched him develop from a college student through formation to Solemn Vows three years ago, the Deaconate a year ago, and now the Priesthood. I am very proud of Fr. Richard and excited to see him grow into a good Franciscan and Priest. His first assignment will be to our missions in Jamaica where he spent a year prior to being ordained a Deacon.

God bless you and your ministry, Richard.
