Offensive Political Comments

The dire predictions that our way of life has ended and that we are in for religious persecutions and forced Obama Islamic affiliation are becoming offensive. Such nonsense in the wake of Mr. Obama's re-election point to the root cause of much of the polarization in our country and in our Church. And it is contrary to our Gospel life.

Jesus tells us to love our enemies; not to vilify them. We can disagree with the President and we can object to some of his opinions and stands, but we may not condemn him or vilify him.He is not "evil." As a fellow human being, Mr. Obama is intrinsically good because he is created in the image and likeness of our God.

We have enough polarization in our country and Church to last multiple lifetimes. Let's listen to the Gospel in which we are called to love and respect one another. We don't have to agree, but we do have to respect and listen to one another.

As I said, I find some of the comments floating around offensive. They are contrary to the Gospel and I find them unacceptable.
