I am a Franciscan priest. I spent my early years of ministry in New Mexico working among the Pueblo Native Americans and the Hispanics. In 1978 I began my years in academics working as a chaplain, faculty member, and administrator at various universities in the southwest and the midwest. I taught various course in theology, especially in my area of specialty which is moral theology. I have been the Vocation Director for the Province of Saint John the Baptist since 2003.

"Come and See" Ends

The March 2008 Come and See weekend came to a successful close in spite of the weather and necessary adaptations. Three men participated in the weekend:

Greg_ostdiek_2Greg Ostdiek, 38, was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Presently he is in Port Aransas, Texas serving as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. Greg has completed 12 years in the service. He has two brothers; one older and his twin who is a few minutes younger.


Kevin Janke, 38, comes from Milwaukee, WI. KevinKevin_janke is presently  serving as a Security Guard at Harley Davidson. He has also worked a a Saute Chef. He was in the United States Air Force for four years and one year in the United States Army Reserves. He has one brother and one sister.


Ryan_carnesRyan Carens, 20, was born in Centralia, Illinois and presently lives in Clarkesville, Tennessee. He was recently discharged from the United States Army. He is a Certified Nurse Assistant and is presently serving in local hospitals and nursing homes as needed. Ryan has an older brother and two older sister.
